Chronicles. Luis Negrón (Guayama, Puerto Rico, 1970) published his debut short story collection, Mundo Cruel, in 2010. This collection has since seen five printings in Spanish including a Guatemala, Costa Rica, Cuba, Buenos Aires and Spain. The stories in the book focus on gay life in Santurce, a barrio in San Juan. An English translation by Suzanne Jill Levine was published by Seven Stories Press in 2013, and won the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Fiction in translation in 2014.
