Carme Manuel es profesora de la Universitat de València y directora de la colección Biblioteca Javier Coy d’estu-dis nord-americans (PUV). Es autora de numerosas traducciones al castellano y catalán de distintos escritores estadounidenses, de ensayos sobre metodología de la en-señanza del inglés y sobre literatura norteamericana, entre ellos, La literatura de Estados Unidos desde sus orígenes hasta la Primera Guerra Mundial (Síntesis, 2006).
