María del Pilar Calzado Sobrino es Doctora en Historia por la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. Ha centrado su labor investigadora en el estudio histórico, codicológico, diplomático, paleográfico y edición de los principales cartularios de la Orden Militar de Santiago en la Edad Media; así como en el análisis de los diferentes índices e inventarios históricos de los archivos de la Orden que, desde el siglo XIII hasta el XIX, han descrito su conjunto documental, conservados en el Archivo Histórico Nacional.
