A compilation of detailed texts and historic photographic images of the architectural heritage of Medellín, its streets, churches, buildings, hospitals. Many of the places documented have been demolished and the photographers are the only remaining witnesses to study the transformation of its urban landscape over the centuries. A catalogue of buildings is included with images in the "Note" section at the end of the book.

1st number of the series printed 10 years ago of an anthology of selected articles written in 1997 and 1998 by members of the Master's degree academic staff. The texts are research works on the different aspects related with the conservation of the cultural heritage, particularly with the urban architectural patrimony.

A study by the founder of the Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad del Bío-Bío. The first part is a history from pre-Columbian times to 1973, omitting the long colonial period. The second part considers the evolution of urbanism in Chile and includes a chronology of national and international architectural events and several annexes.
