Los documentos y los testimonios hablan de una fuerte represión en Sanlúcar la Mayor una vez fue tomada la plaza por los “elementos de orden” de los sublevados en 1936. Se ha procedido en la medida de lo posible a identificar las víctimas mortales de dicha represión mediante documentos, fotos, historias y recuerdos de sus familiares y allegados. Jorge Garcia Montes was born in New York, United States, on october 19, 1898. His father, Jose Maria Garcia Montes, was exiled during the war of Cuba's independence against the Spaniards. Later, he became the first Secretary of Finance in 1902 with the first President of the Republic of Cuba, Tomas Estrada Palma.
