El presente volumen reproduce, de acuerdo con la edición alemana de Annemarie Gethmann-Siefert y Bernadette Collenberg-Plotnikov, uno de los juegos de apuntes correspondientes a las lecciones de Hegel sobre estética o filosofía del arte impartidas en el semestre del verano de 1826 (un año antes de la publicación de la primera parte de la filosofía del espíritu absoluto, dedicada también al arte, de su monumental Enciclopedia berlinesa). Se trata de los apuntes, tomados al dictado en clase, de F. C. H. V. von Kehler.
