Beginning by tracing the history of Dominican women writers from the nineteenth century to the present, the study then moves on to an analysis of the construction of space and identity in the works of these authors. Opening the door to researching this new generation of Dominican women novelists, this work makes significant contributions to the fields of Caribbean and women's studies.
