A collection of photographs by some of the most influential photographers of the twentieth century which demonstrate the wide range of techniques that have been used by photographers during the past one hundred years.

These modern and unconventional photographs portray an Italy that is very different from the one most people are accustomed to seeing on postcards. In this book, Italy and its heritage of nature, history, culture and humanity are presented from a unique vantage point — the sky — with pictures taken by two of today's most respected specialized photographers.

Nadar, whose real name was Felix Tournachon (1820-1910), was a conspicuous, even astonishing presence in nineteenth-century France. Engaging and quick-witted, he invented himself over and over as a bohemian writer, a journalist, a romantic utopian, a caricaturist, a portrait photographer, a balloonist, an entrepreneur, a prophet of aeronautics. The name "Nadar" was on everyone's lips. Today, it is Nadar's photography that is remembered. Anthological exhibition of Cuban photography, fifty artists and one hundred images allow an extensive tour of the development of photography in Cuba since its arrival on the island in 1840 to the present.
